This golden coin represents Auguste, founder of the roman empire and first roman emperor, who ruled from 27BC to 14 AD. He was born Caius Octavius, but in 27BC the Senate gave him the title of Augustus and Princeps, title that will be the name under which he will be remembered. This title will be used by almost all the following roman emperor.
We can see it on the front of the coin, CAESAR AVGVSTVS DIVI F PATER PATRIAE which we could translate with Cesar Auguste, Divine son, Father of the country.
The reverse side represents two of his sons Caius and Lucius and their honours. At this time Caius and Lucius are 13 and 10 years old, with this coin Auguste show his desire to introduce them as his heirs.
