16 th emperor of the Roman Empire he ruled from 161 to 181; twice as co-emperor with first Lucius Verus and then with Commodus. He succeeded Antoninus Pius.

On the obverse we can see Marcus Aurelius with his name written. We can read CAES AVG PII F latin abbreviation for “Caesar Augustus Pii Filius”.
On the reverse is Virtus, deity of bravery and military strength, in military dress standing right, foot on helmet, holding reversed spear and parazonium. TR POT XIII COS II celebrates Marcus Aurelius 13th tribunicia protestas office and his second consulate.
